At every DFEND session we remind the girls of one honest truth: six days of training will not make anyone a martial-arts expert and it should not be expected to. What short, focused training can do is teach essential skills that help you avoid danger or create the moments you need to get away.
Our goal in self-defense is always clear and simple. It is not to win a fight. It is to act quickly and decisively in a way that creates a small, safe window to escape. That means learning practical moves, building situational awareness, and practicing them until the body remembers before the mind panics.
Our sessions are simple, repeatable techniques that one can use under stress, awareness drills that make one notice danger early, role-play and partner work so responses become instinctive, how to keep calm, create distance, and seek help after escaping
Six days can change how you react and It can turn hesitation into action and fear into a plan.
That is the difference between surviving a moment and being trapped by it – and that is what DFEND teaches.
